A Note From My Heart: ‘A Bowl of Blessing Soup’

A Bowl of Blessing Soup

I’m stopping all of my work  right now to share with you a little perspective I was in need of and blessed with today.  If you have read my blog for a little while, you know that The Entire reason I started this blog was to help others struggling to make it.  You also know that Giving Back to those in need is one of the most important things I feel we can do with the abundance we quickly gain from using coupons.  Today as you’ll read below, the man that my couponing provided A Bowl of Soup for…ended up being a huge Blessing to me today.

I don’t share about the countless hours that I spend working on both of my blogs, but it’s a lot…we’ll just leave it at that.  I run both blogs myself, and am incredibly blessed to have a friend volunteer a few hours a week to help me with the CVS ad and when she can a few other things here and there.  I don’t know what I’d do without her help each week.  There are times I’m a bit weary and overwhelmed, and today was one of those days.

No one knows me better than my husband.  I don’t even have to say anything…he just knows when I need support, encouragement and reminders of why I work so tirelessly at this.  Today was no different.   Today he shared with me something that truly made me stop all of my work, get on my knees and thank God for this ‘Ministry’ and for reminding me Why I am doing this.  Today I got a Bowl of Blessing Soup.

I want to share this with you because I know that each of you also works tirelessly and often feel weary like I do.  You also coupon diligently, which takes work and effort.   I think some of you can use this reminder and encouragement to keep going.  You really do make a difference in the lives of others.   Many of the lives your changing you’ll never know about, but rest assured you are making a difference in the lives around you.

Here is What my husband sent me today.

[stextbox id=”White”]”This homeless  man in back of my office was so thankful for this soup.  Soup that you got in abundance due to your tireless work to meet the physical needs of others. That’s Kingdom-minded. How blessed are we! Praise God and send my wife help to reach the multitudes. I love you, Kimberly”[/stextbox]

I will NEVER lose sight of why I do this each day. I am so incredibly thankful that we are blessed enough to have a roof over our heads and an abundance of groceries from couponing that we can give and bless others with today.

Be encouraged, that your work, whatever it may be, is helping others.  If it’s answering phones, typing on the computer (which is what I do all day), putting nails in a roof or nails of fingers…;-)  You are making a difference in someone’s life.  Never lose sight of that.  Keep Couponing Diligently.  I’m so proud of each of you.  It has been so amazing to see many of you start out not knowing a thing about using coupons and now you’re  leaving comments about blinkies and tearpads you found and deals you find that I missed.  :-)  Keep giving to those in need.  Today was evidence that it is better to give than to receive.  That man my husband gave soup to today, truly encouraged and blessed me more than I thought a bowl of Soup could bless anyone!    What is your ‘Bowl of Blessing Soup’ ?
