Chocolate Peanut Butter Acorn Treats Recipe

I have to admit that Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite Holiday of the year!  I love all of the cooking, baking and family time!  My kids love cooking with me…although I think they enjoy eating all of the yummy treats even more! LOL

This week I have a fun Acorn Treats Recipe for you to make.  My 3 year old helped me make these, so they are very easy and fun to make.  It’s a craft and recipe all in one!  These are great to use to decorate a kids Thanksgiving table with! Later I’ll be showing you some great table decorations for both the elegant adult table and also for a fun filled kids table!

This fun Fall Treat will have your friends ‘Oohing’ and ‘Awing’ at your Creativity. Easy and fun to make with your kids too! Sure to please every chocolate peanut butter fanatic in your home!

Ingredients
  • Ingredients Needed to Make Acorn TreatsBite Size Nutter Butter cookies (1 Bag)
  • Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses (1 Bag)
  • Chocolate Chips (Milk Chocolate)
  • Wax Paper
  • 1 Ziploc type bag (quart or sandwich size)

Instructions
  1. Line a baking tray with Wax Paper
  2. Unwrap 24 (or more if you want) Hershey’s Kisses (the most time consuming part)
  3. Melt ¼ cup of the Chocolate Chips in a Microwave Save Bowl until melted (about 1 minute – stir half way through)
  4. Carefully scoop the Melted Chocolate into 1 corner of the ziploc bag
  5. Snip a VERY SMALL piece of the corner of the bag using scissors (this acts as a ‘Baker’s Icing bag’.
  6. Place a small amount of the melted chocolate in the center of the flat side of the Hershey’s Kiss (pictured below)

  7. Place 1 Nutter butter Cookie on top of the Melted chocolate dot
  8. Place a VERY SMALL dot of the melted chocolate on the top of the Nutter Butter cookie in the center
  9. Place 1 Milk Chocolate Chocolate chip on the dot
  10. Place the completed ‘acorn treat’ on the wax paper lined pan and repeat process until all 24 treats are done.
  11. Place the tray in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes until the melted chocolate is hardened and Enjoy!

Notes
You may want to separate some of the nutter butter cookies and remove the peanut butter, so they all look a little different. (see picture at top of recipe)
