Homemade Glass Cleaner Recipe 2012

I posted a couple of new Windex Coupons the other day and one of my readers mentioned that she makes Homemade Glass Cleaner, which is cheap and super easy to make!  So, being the Savvy Shopper and homemaker that I am, I did some research and came up with a great easy Glass Cleaner for you!  I have about 1/12 of a bottle of Windex left in my stockpile, and I haven’t seen any Super Amazing deals on it lately, so I’m thrilled about this recipe!  Not only is it cheap, it doesn’t have ammonia in it!  So, I can breathe when I use it!

I put together 2 options for you, as there are a TON of different Glass Cleaner recipes  you can make yourself.  Many recipes have Isopropyl Alcohol in them, which is poisonous when swallowed or inhaled in large quantities, so I chose not use the isopropyl alcohol in either of the options below

IMPORTANT: DO NOT reuse an old spray bottle that had a cleaner in it.  You need to grab a cheap NEW spray bottle from the Dollar Tree for this!
Homemade Glass Cleaner Recipes

Option #1 with Dawn Dish Soap:

  • 1/4 cup of White Vinegar
  • 2-3 drops of Dawn Dish Soap

Mix all your ingredients together put in your spray bottle and Voila!!! You have your very own Homemade Glass Cleaner!

Option #2  – if you don’t have Dawn Dish Soap on hand:

  • Use Equal parts water and White Vinegar, mix them together, and put in your New Spray bottle and ‘Presto’ you have Glass Cleaner!

Make sure you label your bottle ‘Homemade Glass Cleaner’

Warnings:

  1. Do not reuse empty cleaner bottles. Buy a new bottle for your glass cleaner.
  2. Always label the contents of your cleaner bottles.
  3. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
