Walgreens Photo Show & Tell: 78% Savings

by Kimberly on August 7, 2011

WOOOOOHOOOO! I’m doing the Happy Coupon Dance!! I am so excited to be saving on school supplies!!! I had to improvise quickly at the store because the store I shopped at did not carry the Keri Lotion I was planning on getting.  It threw all my planning out the window!  Some of you have asked if you can get a Raincheck at Walgreens for items offering Register Rewards…and the answer is No. Walgreens does not issue rainchecks for RR. (CVS does offer rainchecks for products offering ECBs)

If you are new to shopping at Walgreens please read the Tips to Shopping At Walgreens at the end of this post. Shopping at Walgreens requires several different transactions and some careful planning. Once you learn their system, the savings is AMAZING! Also, it’s a good idea that whenever possible you check-out at the Cosmetic counter so that you don’t hold up the line in the front of the store.

Below is a list of Everything I bought, the coupons I used and the order I did my transactions in. Today I actually had SEVEN transactions!! YIKES!!  (That’s because I wan’t paying attention.  I think I could have done it in 5)  Thankfully I have a WONDERFUL cashier, Hailey, who is amazingly patient with me and all my coupons. :-) THANK YOU HAILEY!!!

**TIPS for shopping at Walgreens:**
1) Always give the cashier your MQ FIRST and Walgreens Coupons LAST
2) When buying multiple identical products offering RR, purchase them in SEPERATE transactions. (If you purchase more than 1 in a transaction you will only get 1 RR)
3) Do not use the RR you receive from a product to go towards the purchase price of another IDENTICAL product, as you will also not receive another RR. (Ex. If they’re offering a $5 RR for Pro-Glide Razors you will not want to use that $5RR towards another Pro-Glide Razor because you will NOT receive another RR. Purchase them in seperate transactions and use the RR for other items that are NOT identical)
4) RR can NOT be used towards the purchase of Dairy or Gift Cards
5) Remember you can never have more coupons than items at Walgreens, so grab something cheap (a ‘filler’) that is $0.50 or less to make up for any extra coupons
6) RR do have an expiration date on them, so make sure you use them before they expire.
7) “Profit” refers to you receiving more in RR than you spend. It does NOT mean you get cash back.
Walgreens In-Ad coupons DO NOT count as coupons in your coupon count…they basically just adjust the price of the item.
