by Kimberly on April 3, 2011

I had so much fun shopping today!  I absolutely LOVE saving money!!  I saved 77% at Walgreens today!  Below is a list of exactly what I got, broken down into transactions and what coupons I did.  For those of you that are new to shopping at Walgreens, there are a few ‘rules’ to shopping there.  Once you learn them and the ‘system’  though, it will save you TONS of money!! At the very bottom of this post I will put the ‘Tips for Shopping at Walgreens’, for those of you that are new.  That will help you understand why I have so many different transactions.  I’ll post my CVS trip later tonight or tomorrow.  I saved 84% there!!

Red = manufacturer coupons (Can use 1 coupon per item…if coupon states -$1/5…that is one coupon for 5 items)
Green = store coupons (can use 1 coupon per item…AND CAN combine with a manufacturer coupon)
SS = Smart Source Coupon Insert from Sunday paper (the date of which sunday will be indicated for all inserts mentioned below)

**TIPS for shopping at Walgreens:**
1) Always give the cashier your MQ FIRST and Walgreens Coupons LAST
2) When buying multiple identical products offering RR, purchase them in SEPERATE transactions. If you purchase more than 1 identical item offering a Register Reward (RR) in a transaction you will only get 1 RR.
3) Do not use the RR you receive from a product to go towards the purchase price of another IDENTICAL product, as you will also not receive another RR. (Ex. If they’re offering a $5 RR for Pro-Glide Razors you will not want to use that $5RR towards another Pro-Glide Razor because you will NOT receive another $5 RR. Purchase them in seperate transactions and use the RR for other items that are NOT identical)
4) RR can NOT be used towards the purchase of Dairy or Gift Cards
5) Remember you can never have more coupons than items at Walgreens, so grab something cheap (a ‘filler’) that is $0.50 or less to make up for any extra coupons
6) RRs do have  expiration dates on them, so make sure you use them before they expire.
7) “Profit” refers to you receiving more in RR than you spend. It does NOT mean you get cash back.
